Catfish Kitchen

I tried fillets, definitely prefer the taste that comes with bone in fish wayyyyy more. The bathroom could use paint n a good scrubbing. Sides, excellent as ALWAYS. Hush puppies to die for....Really have loved this place a very long time.

We had a Togo order Sunday and everything was cooked perfectly! Catfish, White Beans, and Fries were spot on! Nothing was missing from our order. We will definitely be eating there again!

First-time visit! I had heard great things about Catfish Kitchen, so my expectations were high—and they were definitely met. The service was excellent, with a friendly and attentive waitress who made us feel welcome right away. They started us off with coleslaw and fresh hushpuppies—both were some of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the spicy catfish, and it was hands-down some of the best catfish I’ve ever tasted. The breading on the spicy version is different—in the best way—and has an incredible flavor and crunch. Even my wife said that’s what she’s getting next time! It’s not overly spicy, so don’t be afraid to try it even if you’re sensitive to heat. Can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely Amazing! We are from out of town and came to treat our grandmother. I messaged ahead because we have a kiddo with food allergies. They answered all of our questions and were very nice. We have a large family and asked if we should reserve a table. They reserved a table for us and even made sure it was on the ground level so we could get nanny's wheel hair in. When we arrived and our table was already set and waiting! They greeted us with smiles and the best attitudes! They seated us in a great location for her wheelchair. The food was amazing and delicious!! This was an all around wonderful experience, from the messages to the food and servers. And oh, man the view! We will most definitely be back. Thank you guys for everything!

The catfish ws very good! I'm glad they were available and close to the park. Our server was attentive and didn't miss a beat on bringing malt vinegar. The onion rings were a hit!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for months and finally went last night. I went early before the crowds arrived. I’m glad I did because the service was good and the food was freshly cooked. I ordered the seafood platter. I traded the small bay scallops for 2 fish fillets. Normally that would have made me happy but I didn’t like the fish batter. Every good southern person knows that catfish is battered with a cornmeal & flour mixture. Not this place! It was more like a beer batter? Very disappointing!!! The server told me that I could have ordered the cornmeal batter ? It was Nowhere on the menu, no one told me that and I’d never been there before. How was I supposed to know that? This is Burns, TN- it should come with the cornmeal batter and then if you want the other, ask for it! If I had ordered the catfish meal, the rating would have been lower but the shrimp & oysters were good. The crab cake was flat and overcooked & so was the fish. The sides were the highlight of the meal! The slaw was really good without having too much mayo. The white beans were cooked perfectly and came with a slice of onion. And the fries were fantastic! Fresh cut fries were soft on the inside, slightly crispy on the outside. The best fries I’ve had in a long time!!! The hush puppies sucked. I’m sure it’s because they are made using that weird batter? I’ll go back one more time just to order the cornmeal battered fish. I feel like I can’t really rate the catfish until I have it the way it’s supposed to be? UPDATE: I went back to Catfish Kitchen last night and ordered the catfish dinner with the cornmeal/southern style breading and it was wonderful! The way catfish should be cooked in the south! Everything was great, the beans were tender, the slaw wasn’t overly mayo tasting, fries were perfect. Even the hush puppies were big and had some onions. They still had the weird batter but it wasn’t bad as a hush puppy. I know the owner wants his fish to be different but if it’s hurting his business? I’d rethink that? Since my first visit, I’ve asked family and friends what they thought? Not one person I asked liked it cooked that way and literally No one knew that they could have gotten cooked southern style? I think the food was great last night and I’ll be spreading the word! I think either putting signs on the walls or better yet, in the menu’s that people have the choice of breading would be advantageous for the restaurant? If it’s were me, I’d want ALL the business I could get! Once again, the wait staff were friendly and attentive. And the lake view can’t be beat! I’ll be back and I think more people would be repeat customers if they had the Southern breading!!!

We are visiting a nearby State Park, Montgomery Bell State Park. We passed this lake side restaurant as we drove to the Park. Turns out it was close. We decided to go back over for dinner. The Catfish Kitchen was a pleasant surprise on our weekend getaway! They were pretty busy but were very attentive to all their visitors. You can see the lake from the dining room. That’s nice. Our server was very good. She was fast to attend to all our needs. She kept our drinks refreshed. Food service from the kitchen was prompt! Everything was delicious! We ordered the Catfish Filets meal. Several sides came with them- white beans & relish, hush puppies, Cole slaw ( vinegar or mayo), potatoes ( baked or fires). My husband tried the Pecan Pie for dessert. Everything was great!! They do a good job! Their menu included quite an other options too. We were in the mood for Catfish. Yummy!! Visit them soon!!

The food was very good & Hot and not over cooked. Our Waitress Paige did a great job and was very professional. I'm a Top 10 Reviewer on Google Maps with over 19 Million Views. I recommend this place !!!
